We believe in an abundant, flourishing, climate-safe future, and know that, together, we can realize one.

We talk the talk, and walk the watt

Rewiring America is the leading electrification nonprofit, focused on electrifying our homes, communities, and businesses. We develop accessible data and tools and build coalitions and partnerships to make going electric easier for households and communities. Rewiring America helps Americans save money, tackle nationwide emissions goals, improve health, and build the next generation of the clean energy workforce.

Clear eyes, full hearts, shared views

Our purpose is to make electrification simple, measurable, and inevitable. We use the best data and analysis to tell stories of electric transformation. We are outcomes oriented, and focused on decarbonizing at the pace the climate crisis demands. And we work to ensure that no household or community is left behind. We know this is the decade that matters, and that a flourishing future depends on the work we do now.

Persistent and Ambitious

We understand the art of negotiation and compromise. But we never let those inevitabilities limit our horizon line. We go big and take risks. We forge pathways, notch victories, and change the calculus of what’s possible.

Outcomes

The only way to know how close we are to our destination is to count and measure. We identify the market-transforming levers and get to work moving them. We do not wait for someone else to come along.

Clear-Eyed Optimists

The path forward on climate is achievable, and the next decade is an opportunity to do something amazing. We know our why, and have confidence in our ability to achieve it. Demonstrating possibility can overcome paralysis and inertia.

Community-Minded

Our vision demands that everyone, particularly those most affected by climate, economic, and racial injustice, can participate. Individual action is important, but we must create an appealing path that works for everyone.

Me and you and everyone we know

Our team does everything from heat pump policy to heat pump parties, with an all-star array of skills that dazzle so that we can deliver. While we work in teams, we work across a few streams with one another, usually while wearing many hats (with lightning bolts on them).

Your home

The tools and campaigns to help households electrify. Our data science, product, and marketing teams work collaboratively to bring electric appliances to households with resources like our Personal Electrification Planner (PEP) and consumer site. We’ve got the equipment packages and financing, too, to make this affordable for everyone.

Our communities

We go electric in our communities. Which is why our whole organization works in community — bringing the financing, resourcing, tools, training, and coaches to help plant all those baby heat pumps. From our partnerships team to our education team, our work is a community affair. We’re place-based and pace-based! Together, we’ll grow and electrify at speed!

The market

Electrification only works if we can electrify everything for everyone. To do this we have to bring cost and friction down, and awareness up, for everyone. Our comms and creative teams work on broad awareness campaigns in partnership with our policy and research teams, who activate at the federal and state level to tilt the market and make electrification easy. We’ve got to expand the number of households for whom this makes economic sense.

Our peeps have pep!

Here are just a few of our rewirers! We have a few comedians, many musicians, animal-lovers, mountain-climbers, okra experts, and of course all are electric enthusiasts! Click below to see the full team.
