Rewiring America partners with the NBA to promote electrification at All-Star Weekend 2025

This first-time creative partnership helps fans see the benefits of going electric.

February 13, 2025 —Today, Rewiring America kicked off its sustainability partnership with NBA Green on a series of programs designed to introduce NBA fans to electrification. Going electric means swapping out fossil fuel machines for the health, comfort, and cost-saving benefits of clean, electric ones. Together, Rewiring America and NBA Cares will be engaging and educating the broader NBA community about the tangible advantages of household electrification, including reduced energy costs, improved air quality, and healthier communities. The first activation will take place at the NBA’s Crossover fan experience during All-Star Weekend in San Francisco, from February 14-16.

“Working with the NBA is a unique opportunity to reach an enormous and energetic audience,” said Rewiring America’s Vice President of Communications & Creative Strategy, Sarah Lazarovic. “Through this partnership, we’re able to show NBA fans just how easy it can be to go electric — to save money and energy, and make their homes safer and more comfortable. We’re bringing sustainability into a space that is synonymous with excitement and connection, where fans can see firsthand how going electric makes sense for them. We are thrilled to continue working with the NBA to build a more affordable and healthy future for all.”

As part of this effort, Rewiring America is also teaming up with The Cool Down, a digital platform and newsletter that reaches over 30 million people a month with practical ways to save money, live healthier, and make better choices for the planet. Together, they are launching a guide on a dedicated informational page where NBA fans can easily learn about the benefits of electrification.

 “Our guide breaks electrification down in a way that’s easy to understand and act on,”  said Anna Robertson, co-founder of The Cool Down. “Whether fans are tuning in for All-Star Weekend or exploring their options for the first time, we’ll connect them with solutions that can lead to cost savings, healthier homes, and a cleaner future.”

The All-Star Weekend activation will serve as a launch pad for a longer-term partnership between the NBA and Rewiring America. Through this collaboration, Rewiring America hopes to inspire more people to take action in their own homes and increase awareness of the benefits that come from electrification.
